The impact scales used on projects are generally based on the following impact categories:
On this basis, more or less quantitative criteria are defined.
For example, a risk will be classified as level 3 out of 5 in terms of costs if its impact is between 10% and 20% of sales.
The overall risk impact corresponds to the maximum value of all impacts.
For many risks, this classification is perfectly relevant.
