ABSTRACT
One of the characteristics allowing man to enjoy autonomy, enabling him to evolve in and transform his environment, is his capacity to interact with the outside world. This interaction is based on the capability of living beings to grasp and collect information from the outside world. Touch is an extremely rich sense which is however little used in interactions with material devices and software. Certain concepts, applicable to the assistance of the visually impaired, musical interfaces and interactive communication, have been developed at the CEA LIST.
