1. Preparing the meeting and its context
This kick-off meeting is necessary so that the project's players or stakeholders can meet and establish, in complete confidence, the basis for their future collaboration (roles, responsibilities, communication, etc.).
The project becomes concrete, the project manager and the project team acquire their full legitimacy; management and any partners (internal or external) in the project show their commitment.
The meeting takes place at the very beginning of the project. It is a deliverable of the project, and can mark the official start date or an important date in the life of the project.
It validates the roles, missions and documents that will enable the project to move on to the operational phase.
