Understand project, product and project management life cycles

As can be seen from the diagrams in Step 2, the different cycles coexist throughout a product's life cycle.

Each of the product's feasibility, realization, use and recycling phases will give rise to projects, which in turn will use project management processes, each with its own life cycle.

For a project as a whole, the following cycles can be defined, for example (the abbreviation CDV is used here for the term "life cycle"; project management cycles are not detailed for the sake of clarity, and their presence is indicated by the abbreviation CDV MDP):
