Andon

Various translations exist, highlighting either the means of alert (button, lamp), or the assistance to be provided to an operator encountering a problem. It's a process that organizes assistance to make it truly effective.

Self-check

Verification by the operator of the conformity of the work carried out in relation to the standard to be applied.

Capability

Characterization of a process' ability to achieve a compliant result. Statistical concept that compares the dispersion obtained with the tolerance allowed.

Corrective

An action that corrects the root cause of a problem, thus preventing recurrence.

Deming

American statistician who developed the concepts behind Jidoka. Popularized by the Deming wheel or wheel of continuous progress.

Outstanding

Products that are along the flow, waiting, in transport, or being processed....
