Diagnosis and failure prognosis methods based on hybrid methods

Hybrid methods are currently the subject of numerous publications and experiments, and do not have a recognized international classification. They use sequential or parallel combinations of several methods from the following families:

• experience- and knowledge-based methods based on human expertise and knowledge engineering techniques;

• methods based mainly on data processing with no knowledge of physical laws;

• methods based on physical models representing physical phenomena.
