4. Perform functional analysis
It is an essential prerequisite for product FMECA. It aims to :
define what the product must do or what it is made for in the phases of its life cycle, the applications and/or uses retained;
describe how the product works by means of interdependent functional blocks.

Analysis involves identifying and describing functions, and establishing logical relationships between them.
