Identify the elements of detection and/or prevention
Conducting a Process FMEA study

At this stage of the study, we are looking at the elements that will enable us either to detect potential causes, or to prevent them. Scenarios are probably already available, as they have already been studied by our product engineers, when they experimented with similar processes. The benefits of having a multi-disciplinary team with all the necessary skills and knowledge are well established.

If nothing is available, the result will be an absence of any means of detection or prevention, and it's highly likely that a control action will be initiated. Indeed, the customer will not be satisfied with an empty set in this category.
