2. Scope and application of environmental policy
The scope and perimeter of the policy define the scope of the management system.
The scope of the management system corresponds to the areas of activity covered by the management system, e.g. manufacturing activities (research and development activities may therefore be excluded from the scope).
The scope of application corresponds to the spatial or geographical unit covered by the management system, e.g. the Rodez site or buildings F33 and 34 at the Douai plant.
The scope of an organization's management system is therefore characterized by information relating both to the nature of the activities concerned and to the place(s) where they are carried out.
