1. Implement the value analysis approach
EN 1325 defines VA as "a creative and organized approach using a functional and economical design process whose aim is to increase the value of a VA subject", the VA subject being the product, new or existing, to which the VA is applied.
The method is broken down into five "essential" phases, which are described in detail below:
1. define the subject and the limits of the approach ;
2. define and prioritize needs ;
3. carry out a functional analysis of the product and prioritize the functions, based on the relative importance of the needs they satisfy;
4. define or identify the technical or operational elements to be implemented to achieve each function, evaluating the costs of these elements;
