Perform a functional analysis of the product
Implement the value analysis approach

This phase aims to :

• define, in terms of functions, what the product is to do or what it is to be used for in the various phases of its life cycle, and the applications and/or uses it is to be used for;

• describe how the product works by means of interdependent functional blocks.
