Can I use the Ishikawa diagram to carry out a risk analysis and implement preventive actions?
Of course. The principle is the same, but in this case, the effect is the defect or failure we want to prevent. Possible causes are identified in each category. Then, for the causes judged to be the most probable or the most significant, we check that adequate means of control exist to prevent the occurrence of these causes, or we decide to put them in place.
