Any good or product output from a process is linked to a Kanban tag, and vice versa.
These same goods are combined in a package that becomes the basic unit.
A Kanban label is either with its packaging unit, or in production.
The user of a means of production picks a unit of packaging and leaves the kanban tag. If a kanban label is isolated, it becomes a purchase order.
This flow management method is very often found in companies organized as Autonomous Production Units, or APUs, organizations in which employees have a high degree of autonomy in managing and regulating their production tool and related resources.
