Over 50% of the world's population lives in (peri-)urban areas, and this trend is growing. That's why many (peri-)urban agriculture (UA) projects are being developed under the impetus of citizens wishing to improve their living environment. Citizens are thus reconnecting with the environment, developing a more ecological consumption pattern, and are more motivated to learn and participate in civic debates. A number of major contemporary challenges are linked to agricultural and food systems: employment (50% of jobs are in the food sector), health, climate (30% of GHG emissions come from the food sector), and natural resource management (75% of fresh water...
