5. QoS architecture for NGN
The architecture for end-to-end QoS has to cope with scalability and security issues, taking into account the tools available. Figure
shows the various interfaces in peer-to-peer communication. The solution must interact with the various QoS mechanisms:
IntServ architecture is not designed for a highly scalable QoS service. But next-generation networks must support this service to interface with the access networks that use it. In this case, RSVP must go unnoticed by the network;
the DiffServ architecture will be used to provide QoS in the border functions of the network edge router and provide a mechanism capable of performing admission control in the network;
QoS in the core network must guarantee service for aggregated flows using mechanisms such as MPLS-TE...
