RTLinux real-time system

Numerous versions of real-time Linux other than RTLinux have appeared in recent years, and are available either as commercial or freeware distributions. KURT (Kansas University Real Time), developed by the Information and Telecommunications Technology Center at the University of Kansas, RTAI (Real Time Application Interface) developed by the Aerospace Engineering Department of the Politecnico di Milano, and RED (Real Time and Embedded Linux) from the University of California, Irvine, are three other popular real-time Linux implementations. We present them in more detail in the following paragraphs. We conclude with a comparative overview including other versions.
