1. Different types of glass fibers
Glass in the form of glass fibers is a widely used material for
reinforcing plastics and cement-based materials due to specific properties,
especially glass fiber mechanical properties, high electrical resistivity,
and thermal and chemical inertia. Additionally, unlike natural fibers
such as flax, hemp... glass fibers are inert in humid environments
and do not mold.
These glass fibers are used in multiple applications (interior
& exterior building, automotive, aeronautics, Marine, infrastructure,
energy, leisure...) for their ease of shaping and their intrinsic
thermal, electrical & mechanical properties (Figure
