Reinforcement glass fiber

Filament

Basic building block of any glass fiber. A fiber consists of several filaments bound together through sizing. The filament is mainly characterized by its diameter.

Strain Point Temperature

According to ASTM C336 standard, this is the temperature corresponding to a viscosity of η = 10 ¹³ . ⁵ Pa·s.

Batch (or vitrifiable mix)

Mixture of several raw materials.

LCM (Liquid Composite Moulding)

Generic term for molding with liquid resin – encompasses several processes of resin injection or infusion into dry reinforcements, described below.
