Environment in foundry - classified installations

Legislation on facilities classified for environmental protection will continue to evolve over the next few years. For foundries subject to declaration, and even those with activities subject to registration, procedures will be simplified with the introduction of the teleservice. For companies subject to the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), the forthcoming revision of the BREF will represent a further step forward, with the publication of conclusions on Best Available Technologies (BAT). These are to be used as a reference by the competent authorities when issuing operating permits and taking into account the emission limit values (ELVs) to be respected for discharges of all kinds from foundries.
