3. Nature of models according to objectives
Rolling, at least in certain segments such as steel strip rolling, is one of the most computerized industries in existence, with a host of models constantly "running" to plan, regulate and optimize these operations.
The degree of sophistication of the models must of course be consistent with the objective being pursued. Only recognized phenomena, couplings and parameters influencing the variables to be determined will be taken into account. Resolution methods, and consequently the accuracy and completeness of the solution, will be chosen according to the response times deemed acceptable.
