INTRODUCTION
PMR polyimides have been developed to meet the thermomechanical demands of high-temperature structures. These thermostable polymers are derived from three reactive monomers in solution capable of inter-reacting under the effect of heat, giving them the name Polymerization of Monomeric Reactants (PMR).
The processing and properties of unreinforced PMR polyimides are also given in this article to highlight the quality of the materials, although they are almost exclusively used as matrix for composites.
PMR polyimides are part of the family of thermosetting polyimides that complement BMI resins.
