13. Lamination
Sometimes films are applied to the hot wall of the sheet or plate:
The film must be correctly stretched and unfolded before being introduced into the inlet air gap, where it is "laminated" to the hot wall of the sheet-plate.
For certain applications, where the film only serves as temporary protection and must therefore be able to delaminate "fairly" easily before use, we may choose to insert it at the 2nd air gap.
In all cases, the film spool is housed on a reel mounted on the polishing-calendering station.
