In this case, the mixing device is not integral with the screw and is inserted into the cylindrical channel of the connecting piece or adapter between the gear pump and the coextrusion box or die (see [AM 3 650] ).

Its essentially distributive operating mode is based on the repeated principle of flow splitting-recombining.

It is an excellent temperature homogenizer, reducing temperature variations in the melt.
