Laminated composite structures

UD laminate (UniDirectional); UD laminate (UniDirectional)

Laminated composite material composed of unidirectional plies, i.e. plies whose fibers all run in the same direction.

epoxy resin; résine époxy

Thermosetting resin widely used in composite structures, particularly for primary structures.

résine thermodurcissable/thermoplastic; thermoset/thermoplastic resin

Polymer resins widely used as matrixes for composites. Thermoplastics can be remelted after processing, unlike thermosets.

prepregs; prepreg

Composites in roll form where the fibers are impregnated with the right amount of resin, making them easy to manufacture.
