Aciers lédéburitiques ; Ledeburitic steels
Steels with a high carbon and alloying element content. Their composition is such that, as cast, they contain a network of eutectic carbides that need to be broken by wrought-hardening (forging and counter-forging). The result is a very high carbide content, leading to exceptional wear resistance.
Carbide; carbide
Chemically defined compound containing at least one carbon atom and other generally metallic elements.
HRC ; HRC
Hardness index measured according to the Rockwell C method, defined by the standard
EN ISO 6508-1
.
HV ; HV
