Controlling a few properties essentially ensures that resins are manufactured consistently.

Control methods are usually standardized .

• Color

  Measurements are made either :

  • with the Lovibond colorimeter;

  • Gardner colorimeter;

  • Hazen coloring (NF T 20-605).

• Acid value (NF EN ISO 2114-00)

  The quantity of $\mathrm{COOH}$ remaining is determined by the number of milligrams of KOH required to neutralize 1 g of product, dissolved in a solvent mixture (2 parts toluene and 1 part absolute ethanol).
