3. Tin-coated packaging steel (tinplate or tin-plated)
This includes tin-coated steel (as defined in NF EN 10020 "Definitions and classifications of steel grades") and articles made exclusively of tin-coated steel, which in their finished state are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, products and beverages for human or animal consumption.
This does not apply to items covered by the "Steel excluding packaging" and "Steel and stainless steel with metal coating (excluding packaging)" sheets.
The main application examples are as follows:
beverage cans ;
cans for canned food ;
dry food packaging ;
