Until the 1970s, controls were rather rare in resin molding shops, although from the outset (around 1950-1960), and out of necessity, aeronautics introduced rigor into the assembly of aircraft structures.

First of all, the industry had to strictly control the various operations involved in gluing:

• degreasing and stripping (with frequent checking of the baths), gluing, checking the evenness of the glue layer;

• temperatures and curing times; bonding pressure control ;

• mechanical testing on adjacent specimens (i.e. placed in the oven next to the mold, guaranteeing the same composition, but not necessarily the same temperature)...
