9. Conclusion
Even in some accredited laboratories, the use of recent equipment with a display that can exceed nine digits means that basic metrological precautions are sometimes forgotten. Feedback has shown that measurements can be made with errors 100 times greater than those claimed by the laboratory. This article should enable calibration managers to ask themselves the right questions before carrying out set-ups, and to apply the recommendations listed in this article. It's worth pointing out that appropriate training at NMIs can complement the concepts set out in this article.
