A mistake to be avoided, but a very common one, is the practice of identical periodicity for all measuring instruments in the same family or company. In this case, the periodicity chosen is the one that avoids the risk of measurement errors due to drift for the instruments most sensitive to drift. While this solution certainly simplifies the management of the measuring instrument fleet, it necessarily entails an excessive final cost.

Publishers of so-called "fleet management" software tend to make this mistake (identical periodicity for all measuring instruments in the same family), and it is regrettable that they have not become more involved in more "advanced" functions.
