Skid resistance meters measure the CFL of a pavement at generally variable acquisition steps. The measuring device is set up to measure the CFL in 1 m acquisition steps. Automated data processing enables measurement to be restituted in 10 m steps. Figure 13 shows the profile of a CFL measurement carried out on an asphalt surface using an IMAG-type device. It is clear that the measured value is subject to considerable variations, suggesting that the measurement process is affected by sources of influence.
