anchorage; wetting

Ability of a filler alloy to spread on a surface when brought to a liquid state and under the right operating conditions.

wettability

Ability of the substrate to accept the spread of the filler alloy.

capillarity; capillarité

Ability of a filler alloy to flow up two generatrices (substrates).

distribution; distribution

Penetration of alloying elements into the substrate.

dissolution; dissolution

Reaction layer between filler metal and substrate.

solidus; solidus

Temperature below which the alloy is solid.

liquidus; liquidus

Temperature above which the alloy becomes liquid.

eutectic; eutectic
