For pleasure and fishing boats, hulls are made of polyester-glass laminates.
Vinyl ester resins are sometimes used for warships and commercial vessels, to ensure a longer service life.
Finally, for large trimarans or racing catamarans, for which price is not an issue, we use carbon-epoxy or carbon/kevlar-epoxy, or sandwich panels with nida Nomex (aramid-phenolic) cores.
Reinforcements, frames, couples and bulkheads can be made of composites, but also of metal for engine and driveshaft supports, with metal fittings.
