7. High frequency and microwaves
When you need to quickly dry an adhesive applied between solid parts, the best technique is high frequency.
7.1 Principle
When a piece of wood coated with water-based glue is subjected to a high-frequency (3 to 300 megahertz) or very high-frequency (microwave = 300 to 300,000 MHz) alternating electric field, the polar water atoms and cellulose molecules in the wood vibrate at the same high frequency, causing the material to heat up rapidly.
