Level measurement and verification – Systems for solids

To assess the level of a bulk solid, a laser-based optical solution offers the advantage of being able to measure the cross-sectional profile, and eventually, through computer integration, to obtain the true volume of the product. Figure 4 shows the laser distance meter mounted on an oscillating support, which in turn is attached to an overhead crane running over the entire surface of the area to be monitored: silo or slab deposit.
