6. Act on results
Different actions can be taken depending on the results obtained for a performance indicator. They consist in correcting and rectifying in order to improve. In the example above, if the company's or laboratory's objective is to perform 200 calibrations per month, the indicator in place shows that the objective has not been achieved, and that action needs to be taken to reach it.
More generally, the actions to be implemented are, for example :
modify indicators ;
increase the frequency of publication of performance indicator results;
replace or train certain operators ;
increase the number of operators ;
reduce the number of operators through automation, which generally requires investment....
