1. Sizing synchronous machines
For a manufacturer of electrical machines, the need for high-performance, automated dimensioning programs is well established. The development of such programs is no mean feat; it is very costly in terms of engineer and programmer time. What's more, these programs must be sufficiently malleable to allow for any subsequent modifications made necessary by a change in technology or hardware. Our aim is not, therefore, to develop calculation methods for synchronous machines, but to show how their formulation can be inserted into a computerized, modular and scalable environment.
