Fire problems in electrical equipment

French regulations are issued by various ministries. Each of the ministries concerned with electrical equipment prepares provisions relating to fire hazards, but no single text refers solely to this type of risk. We will confine ourselves to recalling the main families of regulations that include fire-related aspects in the electrical field.

In general, French regulations call on French standards for testing, which are often, but not always, identical to the IEC standards listed above. This paragraph cannot therefore give an exhaustive overview of the situation.

The Ministry of the Interior was particularly concerned with two aspects of personal safety:
