Nodes and links
Consider a power network comprising N nodes and L links. For the sake of clarity, we'll consider in the following that two nodes are connected by a single link at most, which may physically correspond to several lines, transformers or other elements in parallel, but there's nothing to prevent us, in a practical calculation, from considering each element in parallel individually. We are only interested in established, balanced electrical conditions, with calculations performed on a single phase.
