Overview

ABSTRACT

Waves, these gravity waves generated by the action of the wind on the surface of the oceans of the planet contain a tremendous quantity of energy which has remained unexploited to date. This article presents the SEAREV, a system destined to recover this energy and transform it into electricity. Actuated by the swell, protected from the aggressions from the marine world and benefitting from a flexible and light anchorage, this system is based upon a simple principle. It however requires sophisticated means of control, capable of adapting the dynamics of the system to the waves encountered. The optimization of its shape is being studied in order to reach acceptable production costs.
