. We'll assume that we know the properties of switches, which we'll consider perfect and represent by two-gate thyristors or pure switches. We'll also assume that the various structures (series, parallel, bridge or H-shaped) and reversibility properties (voltage, current, for one-, two- or four-quadrant operation) are known.
In order to increase the switching (or control) frequency and therefore the bandwidth of servo-controls, but also to facilitate the filtering of waveforms (absorbed at the source and supplied to the motor), forced-switching converters are increasingly preferred.
