1. A reminder of electrostatics
It is not our ambition to give a complete course in electrostatics (see [Doc. D 1 036] for general works and [1]). We simply recall the fundamental quantities, the important characteristics of media, and the laws of electrostatics that will be indispensable to us.
For this reminder, we'll assume that we're operating in a vacuum.
