7. Static electricity applications
Historically, the first application of static electricity was in generators. Although limited to very specific applications, electrostatic generators are still in use in 1993. All other applications exploit electrostatic forces to move solid particles or liquid droplets in a gas or other liquid.
7.1 Electrostatic generators
Generally speaking, these generators convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. They are high-voltage sources generally limited to low current values (a few milliamperes).
