1.1 Definition
Gas plasmas are a mixture of electrons, ions and neutral particles. Since electrons have a much lower mass than other particles :

- mass of a hydrogen atom (lightest atom)
- m e :
- electron mass,
ions and neutrals are called heavy particles.
