1. Criteria for choosing between high-frequency and microwave heating

The choice to be made is always a case-by-case one; four main aspects need to be taken into account:

  • The size of the product to be treated must be considered in relation to the homogeneity of the desired treatment. Remember that wavelength defines a reference dimension associated with the propagation of electromagnetic waves:

    λ = 22 m if f = 13.56 MHz
    λ = 11 m if f = 27.12 MHz
    λ = 33 cm if f = 915 MHz
    λ = 12 cm if f = 2450 MHz
