INTRODUCTION
Heating insulating products or products with very poor electrical conductivity using high-frequency electromagnetic waves and microwaves (cf. articles

) is used in many industrial applications.
To list all the applications of high-frequency or microwave heating in industrial processes in use or under development is a tall order. Instead, we've chosen to present a few conventional or recent applications in which the specific properties of dielectric heating are highlighted. The development of HF or MO heating, due to its high investment cost, will only be possible if the emphasis is placed on a transdisciplinary and multi-sectoral approach, i.e. each industrial project is treated within the framework of industrial process engineering; this optimizes the investment cost of the installations.
