6. Capacitor banks
On the network, capacitors are grouped together in the form of batteries, with the equipment required for their commissioning and protection. A capacitor bank is a reactive power generator needed to reduce the apparent power of networks upstream of consumption points

. This passive network component is particularly in demand during periods of high consumption (peaks and overloads). Its availability on the network during these periods is highly desirable to reduce voltage drops and network losses, and thus optimize the cost per kilowatt-hour.
