Any thermal machine can only function if it is placed between a source of high thermal potential (hot source) and a source of low potential (cold source). This section provides an overview of the different types of cold sources found on power generation sites, or even on industrial sites when a cooling function is required. This function requires condensation exchange, as the fluid coming from the turbine is nothing other than wet steam, which has to be condensed.
