This section presents an example of a combined-cycle power plant.
5.1 Description of a power plant
The plant shown in figure 9 comprises :
two combustion turbines with a unit electrical output of around 177 MW ;
two vertical boilers with assisted circulation ;
a steam turbine with an electrical capacity of around 170 MW ;
three pressure levels (for the water-steam cycle) ;
resuperheating between high- and medium-pressure turbines;
an afterburner (gas combustion in the boiler: additional thermal output possible, 27 MW).
