Final energy

Final energy is that which is consumed and billed to the user, taking into account energy losses during production, transport and transformation. It mainly concerns electricity, since the energy it brings to the consumer has undergone multiple transformations from its production to its final use.

Tons of oil equivalent (TOE)

The tonne of oil equivalent is a unit of energy measurement. It represents the energy produced by burning one tonne of oil, i.e. 42 GJ, 10 Gcal or 11,630 kWh. This measure of energy in relation to oil is not part of the international system of units, and is mainly used for economic purposes, notably to compare the different sources of energy produced and consumed by a country, while relating them to the most widely consumed energy in the world.
